Uke Me Away

It’s Friday, the now unofficial day of uke-ing.  Terrifying.

I have to give a shout out to the infamous Patty Punker for requesting this song.  I’ve never heard it before.  Well, obviously I had to listen to it to learn it but I hadn’t heard it before Patty told me to learn it.  So maybe just ignore all that.

Fortunately, I taped this a few days ago, before the return of my intestinal issues.  Clearly I have to stop licking the seats on the Subway because I seem to keep picking up bugs – and not just the cockroach kind.

It’s an adorable song that makes me want to dig right into a murder mystery or sci-fi novel.  It’s a good daydreaming song.  So thanks, Patty.  I’ve been humming it and thinking of you all week.

  1. Fly ME away!!! Can I just do away with the pressure to produce an applause inducing comment here and say that this is what makes my Friday’s?
Cartoon hearts are pouring out of my eyes power puff style right now.

  2. Oh, this makes me SO much happier than the pep assembly I came from at the end of the day. Why can’t we have ukes playing instead of 1000 kids screaming the year of their graduation?? You just chilled me out like a good glass of wine.

    1. *swoon* Note to self: get a trolley. And maybe a real video camera. And time to practice. And a pint of ice cream. And shoes like Dorothy had in the Wizard of Oz.

  3. I wondered what the rest of that song was like and it’s just as enchanting as small clip you get from TV. Feel like I should be swinging in a hammock under the stars… dreaming…

Lovely, Doll. And excellent pick, Punker!

  4. if youtube had a repeat button, you would be on continuous play in my house. you have an adorable voice, and you make me smile. thank you.

  5. Can you get any more adorable? I think not!! I love that song! I love you! I even love Herbert! Also, wanna play a little show for the fundraiser we are having???? **bats eyes sweetly**

  6. I have to agree with everyone else, you’re so frickin adorable! Like a kitten. A kitten who can sing. And play the Uke. I couldn’t play it yesterday because I was working at the library so I came back first thing this morning and you totally gave me my first smile of the day! I hope this will be an every Friday occurance. Can I request Jason Mraz’s “I’m Yours”??

    ♥Spot

PS- stop licking subway seats! Only bus seats are for licking.

  7. Fly Me Away is one of those songs that makes me smile so big that I feel I am floating. I cannot believe you just learned the song because it was some awesome uke playing and singing.

  8. i have chills running up and down my whole body! i love you so much. i can’t even believe i was away on friday and didn’t get to read this right away. thank you so much for learning it and making that song the new theme song in my head that will take away all my ails and angst, and put me in my happy place. your big beautiful flirty eyes, sparkling voice and cheerful strumming make me feel like skipping everywhere i go. i’m absolutely bouyant! huge wet smooches, my love.

    1. Well, I think I can forgive you seeing as how you were at the Moma hanging a wish on that tree. How funny that happened at the same time, right? *slurp*

  9. love it! i keep telling my husband that i need a uke because my hands are too small for a guitar. this video only makes me want one more!! 😀

    1. Do it! But be warned…you’ll be so entranced you’ll have a hard time wanting to wrap those tiny hands around anything else and that might not go over so well with the hubby. *wink, wink*
